Case Study: Custom Machine Design— Edge Mill
Design equipment to mill edges of plate exiting a concast line. Client operated several concast lines for plate. Inherent in the process is the snake-like exit of the finished concast plate. The dross and inpurities had to be removed otherwise contamination and damage would occur during further processing. Brodeur engineers came up with a system of continued milling with horizontal movement of the cutting tools to match the snake-like exit. Dramatic success - additional units were immediately built and installed on all concast lines.      back
